New Zealand White Rabbits

Industry standard

The New Zealand rabbit is the industry standard for farming rabbits, being a multi-purpose animal raised for both meat and fur production. The New Zealand rabbit, despite the name, is American in  origin and originated in California from rabbits imported from New Zealand!

Rapid Growth and reproduction

This breed is known not only for their sweet temperament but also their rapid growth and replication.

My, what big ears you have

After talking with countless rabbit farmers across the world through online resource groups, we discovered that New Zealand Rabbits tend to tolerate heat better because of their substantial ear size. Rabbits cool themselves by expelling heat through the circulatory system in their ears; they aren't able to sweat or pant to cool themselves. With Mississippi summers continually getting hotter, we decided this breed gave us the best opportunity for success.
