Day to Day Cattle Operations on Donaldson Farms

 The headquarters and main areas of operations for Donaldson Farms LLC are located on 250 acres in Sardis, Mississippi. 

With 3 pastures we practice rotational grazing with supplemental feed and minerals.

 130 pasture acres located in Como, Mississippi are reserved for raising of Registered Hereford heifers and their calves.

This is our newest pasture- added in late 2022. We are very excited at its potential to raise healthy heifers and their calves!  

 Additional secondary herd resides on 70 acres within Pontotoc, Mississippi along with several protective donkeys. We added it in 2021 because we needed the additional acreage to support our growing herd numbers. 

Growing on-site feed options for these gentle giants is no small task. Each year we strive to improve upon the last year's practices by remaining focused on regenerative farming. 

We maintain the nutritional requirements to keep our heard happy and healthy by supplemental feedings as needed throughout the week.  

Tall, thick, green grass makes for happy cows. And like our slogan says...

We have installed several natural spring fed ponds as water sources and areas for the cattle to cool themselves during the hot Mississippi summers. 

Additional well-supplied water sources are available in each field. 

Keeping all the cattle happy and healthy involves a multitude of daily tasks that we perform to ensure their quality of life and our quality of product.

Births on the farm are hands down some of our favorite times! There is just something amazingly magnificent about being able to see a newborn calf greet the world.
