Clyde was our herd sire, weighing in at over 1800 lbs he was one big gentle giant!
Bonnie and Clyde began our herd back in 2009 when we were still establishing ourselves on the Home Pastures in Sardis, Mississippi.
Over time we were able to add more heifers to our herd and soon found ourselves needing more acreage to keep up with the rising herd numbers and to maintain our high standards of care for our animals.
In order to refresh our genetic pool, Clyde went to live his studly days out with a whole new herd of ladies. While Maximus and Chops are currently competing to see who will fill those large hoof tracks left by our beloved Clyde.
And yes, He really did get sold to another farm and is well. This isn't just a pretty story for bedtime.
It really is a love story with a twist, a country and smelly twist but a beautiful one.
These cattle are known for their vigor and foraging ability and for their longevity, many females live and produce calves beyond the age of 15 years.
Bulls are capable of remaining profitable at stud to the age of 12 or more. Many breeders keep their elderly cattle until they die of natural causes.
